Two new Holiday Inns’ cap a landmark year for La Vie
La Vie will run both hotels in Tamworth and Rockhampton, 190 rooms in all, after a 2026 that took it from the Whitsundays to the Gold Coast and the Philippines.

4 November 2026: La Vie Hotels & Resorts, the independent hotel management company that runs hotels for owners across Asia Pacific, is closing out 2026 with two more global-brand hotels in regional Australia. It will operate a Holiday Inn in Tamworth, New South Wales, and a Holiday Inn & Suites in Rockhampton, Queensland, following signings announced by IHG Hotels & Resorts.
Together the two hotels will add 190 rooms. In Tamworth, the existing 60-room Best Western Sanctuary Inn will become Holiday Inn Tamworth, with its guestrooms, reception and restaurant refurbished by 2027 and 30 more rooms to be built by 2029, taking it to 90. In Rockhampton, the new-build Holiday Inn & Suites will have 100 rooms, including 40 one and two-bedroom suites for longer stays, in a mixed-use precinct with 350sqm of conference and events space, a 100-seat function room and an outdoor pool.
The signings cap a year of strong momentum for La Vie, which now runs hotels from Sydney and Townsville to the Philippines and the Maldives. La Vie chose to partner with Marriott to operate The Westin Gold Coast and Le Méridien Lindeman Island Resort & Spa in the Whitsundays. In February, La Vie entered the Philippines with two hotels. It took on Accor’s Mercure Rockhampton in January, opened Holiday Inn Townsville with IHG in July and announced Cairns Harbourside Hotel the same month.
In Rockhampton, the new hotel will take La Vie to 174 rooms in the city, alongside the 74-room Mercure Rockhampton on the Fitzroy River.
Both cities know how to draw a crowd. Tamworth Regional Council estimates more than 300,000 people attended the Toyota Country Music Festival in January 2026, and the 55th festival runs from 15 to 24 January 2027. In Rockhampton, Beef Australia 2024 drew 125,576 attendances and 110,789 visitor nights, and the next event runs from 2 to 8 May 2027.
La Vie works with Marriott, IHG, Accor, Wyndham, Radisson, Small Luxury Hotels of the World and YOO, and also runs independent hotels and its own NOOE brand, with teams on the ground in Bangkok, Manila and Singapore.
Jerry Xu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, La Vie Hotels & Resorts, said:
“We are selective about who we partner with because the right brand, in the right city, backed by the right owner, is what delivers the best result. IHG brings the reach of Holiday Inn and its loyalty network, our owners bring the commitment to back a hotel properly, and we bring the local team and the discipline to run it well.”
“Tamworth and Rockhampton pass that test. Both are growing regional cities with strong events calendars and real demand for quality rooms, and Holiday Inn is a name travellers already trust. We choose our partners and our projects carefully, so every hotel we take on can perform for the people who own it.”
